Fifteen

In 2061 North Park on December 18, 2009 at 2:42 pm

That’s how many pounds of Daiya were shipped from Karmavore to ME.

Ten pounds of Cheddar

Five pounds of Italian.

GLORIOUS.

All the Daiya in my world

I split it up in baggies with 6 cups in each of them. My amazing veggie boss and lactose intolerant Curling superstar co-worker and I went in on this masstown Daiya purchase.  The little baggie is for our receeptionist who is also super lactose intolerant.

Here’s the first thing I made:

Onion and mushroom mixed cheeze nachos

More to come, OBV.

Flouring

In 2061 North Park on December 18, 2009 at 2:30 pm

A very good friend bought me TWO KILOS of Organic All Purpose Spelt Flour because it was in the clearance for 50% off and I had no skrilla. Shame. Good thing my friends love my baking so much they voluntairily buy me discounted flour. Mmhmm.

This is most of the goods I made with it as of late:

Pancake Breakfast with S'nog!

“Perfect Pancakes” simple and sweet with a side of Maple Syrup and some S’nogged coffee!

CHEEZE BISCUITZ

Dad’s secret no-fail basic biscuit recipe with added cheddar Daiya. Oh, the Daiya is alllll through the inside, too. You know it. Life is good.

Blueberry Pancakes

Wild, organic, nutritious, delicious, Nova Scotian blueberries!

Bakery Style CCC's

I made these for my best friend Sammy when she was having a bad day. She’s a slut for my CCC’s.

Next- DAIYA.

Spoiled

In Not-my-street-eats on December 18, 2009 at 1:57 pm

My boss at Thumpers Salon is the most wonderful of them all ! This are my Thumpers Official Brunch photos of all the delicious (whole foods based, savory and sweet) fresh vegan food he slaved in the kitchen making. Perfect for our ravenous group of 30-40 hungry drunk hairstylists and our lovers and friends!

Sweet n' Savoury Curried Nuts

Corn Quinoa Salad with Cilantro

Fresh mixed greens with Malcolm's famous balsamic dressing and PEARS and PECANS

Fruit Salad

Up close and personal with my plate

Please do notice the roasted potatoes on my plate as those were scrumptious as well!

Moi! Avec plate!

Red Velvet Cupcakes with Cream Cheeze Frosting

Now you see why I say we’re spoiled.

Failboat

In 2061 North Park on December 1, 2009 at 12:53 pm

Goooood morning people.

This morning I woke up at 7:03 to Phenomenon by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, threw on some Girltalk, and had a dance party with my BFF Jill.  We got all pumped up for early morning baking, and well… here is the first baking conclusion of December 2009:

NEVER USE THIS “FLOUR”

Gluten Free FAIL

I’m on a mission to create Gluten Free treats for a local cafe. I bought a variety of flours to make a custom mix as well, so that is what I will be trying today after work lets out. I should have known when it said the first ingredient was defatted soya flour. EW. No one wants the taste of dry soy in their cookies.

So, they look great:

Failboat Snickerdoodles

They’re in the compost.

Well, back to the dance party!
