Sweetness

In Not-my-street-eats, San Francisco on April 26, 2010 at 11:41 pm

San Francisco round up number two!

All the sweet stuff shall be found here.

Maggie Mudd Sundae

Oh glorious Maggie Mudd and all your dairy free options. We waited outside on a chilly Soy Flandisco day, pacing with anticipation until you were open for business and welcomed us inside.

In case you’re wondering what exactly is happening in that bowl let me explain:

bottom later = warm, dense, fudgy, generously sized brownie.

two ice cream scoops = pumpkin (YES!) and toasted coconut (OMG)

chocolate sauce drizzled everywhere

peanut chunks, too.

topped with vegan whipped cream and a frikkin’ cherry.

Yes, I ate it all. Yes, I passed out mid afternoon with a sugar coma.

On the counter at Maggie Mudd they have a tiny freezer where they keep VEGAN ICE CREAM CAKES IN A VARIETY OF LAYERED FLAVOURS. Always.

Vegan Ice Cream Cakes… READY TO GO!

I wonder if there’s a hypnotist who could help me with my sugar addiction…

Hello Vegan Donuts!

Whole Foods, I love thee for many reasons. One being the vegan donuts that taste like donuts should.

I didn’t even know I was going to be encountering the donuts when I did so… I ate three. Yeah… I ONLY LIVE ONCE OKAY?!

Just like Timmies from the ol’ childhood.

Check her out, in all of her MAPLE GLAZED glory. How could you turn her down? Could you just leave her there.. mingling with the other soulless (read: lacking maple) donuts? NO. YOU GIVE HER A GOOD HOME. A good home complete with all the other maple syrupy goodness you have been hoarding in your body.

Good bodies are made of maple.

PROOF OF MY LOVE:

I ate them all.

Oh, I’m not done.

Check iiiitttttttt!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake with a CCP Topper

Thanks JayMoh! After a long day of frolicking around the city, coming home to this after a dinner treat of Belgian double fried fries was out of control! Spoooooooiled.

Yeah, spoooooooooooiled.

xo.

Oh, and if you don’t get it, CPP stands for Chocolate Covered Pretzel.

Finally

YES, I KNOW, IT’S BEEN A WHILE.

Obviously, FxOxOxD is three months backlogged so expect a flood of new goodness to feast your eyes upon!

FxOxOxD is BACK IN ACTION.

Here are some highlights from my delicious trip to San Francisco in February! We’ll start at the beginning and then zig-zag-ric-rac the rest of the way. (Who knows when I ate what! I blame my many sugar comas.)

Frozen Soy Yogurt with Chocolate Shavings and RASPBERRY SAUCE

Frozen Soy Yogurt with Chocolate Shavings and TOASTED COCONUT

Upon arriving I was whisked away to Fraiche. San Francisco was swinging into a hot week so I was eager to welcome vegan frozen yogurt into my life! I got so excited I neglected to notice the toasted coconut option so I *had* to get another serving before we left. I ate both while my tour-guides worked on their single serving. What if I never returned to Fraiche again?! Good thing I trusted my gut instinct because we didn’t return to this lovely part of San Francisco.

OH!

Another reason to love Fraiche!

Yes, we certainly did spend a significant chunk of our vegan fro’yo conversation frantically whisper-scheming ways to smuggle this sexy beast out of the shop. How could we not?! You’re only in my dreams now. So close, yet so far away.

Sigh.

For breakfast, the lovely JayMoh of the Post Punk Kitchen fixed me a real down home breakfast while I showered international airport dirt off my body. Check this : ! : ! : ! :

Diner Home Fries

Spinach and Mushroom Fritatta with Daiya Cheeze

From one of my favourite cook books, Vegan Brunch! The diner home fries stole my morning show. Seriously. Perhaps even over and above Loki, JayMoh’s charming cat.

Phew, that’s enough for now!

Next we shall conquer Whole Foods, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes with double buttercream frosting and an organic chocolate covered pretzel topper, and VEGAN DONUTS.

xo.

peeess;; Loki owns my San Francisco kitty heart. Don’t let my love for fried carbohydrates fool you.
